Microwave interior light does not come on when the door is opened or during cooking, but the unit otherwise works.

Safety First: Unplug the microwave before replacing the bulb. Glass may be hot if recently used.

• Access bulb: On many Amana models, the cavity light is accessed from the top or rear by removing the outer cover, or from a dedicated light cover.
• Replace bulb: Install a new bulb of the exact type and wattage specified by Amana (often a special appliance bulb). Do not exceed the rated wattage.
• Check socket and wiring: If a new bulb does not light, inspect the socket for corrosion or burning and check wiring connections. Replace the socket or repair wiring as needed.
• Control issue: If power is not reaching the light circuit, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
