Possible Causes
Burned-out hood light bulb, Faulty light socket, Failed light relay on control board, Loose wiring to hood light
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power to the microwave and allow bulbs to cool before handling.
- Replace bulb: Access the hood light from the bottom of the unit. Replace with the correct wattage and type specified by Amana.
- Check socket: Inspect the socket for discoloration or looseness. Replace if damaged.
- Test operation: Turn power back on and test all light settings (Hi/Lo/Off).
- Control issue: If bulbs and sockets are good but lights do not work, the control board light relay may be faulty and require replacement.
