How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger warning: If the microwave appears to run with the door closed and no command, unplug it immediately. There is a risk that the magnetron could energize unexpectedly.
- Do not use the microwave: Leave it unplugged until repaired.
- Inspect door switches: With the unit unplugged, remove the outer cover and check the door switch assembly. Ensure switches are not physically jammed in the "closed" position.
- Check wiring: Compare switch wiring to the schematic (often on the inside of the cabinet). Correct any miswired connections.
- Test relays: If switches are correct, the control board relay may be welded closed. The control board will need replacement.
