Safety: No internal high-voltage work is required for basic checks.

• Try lock/unlock sequence: Follow the user manual for enabling/disabling the child lock (often holding a specific button for several seconds). Attempt to toggle the lock.
• Power cycle: Unplug the Amica microwave for 10–15 minutes to reset the control logic, then reconnect.
• Check keypad: If the lock button appears stuck or unresponsive, clean around it and test other buttons.
• Control replacement: If E18 persists and the lock cannot be cleared, the control PCB or keypad may be faulty and require replacement.
