Microwave display shows LOC or a lock icon; keypad does not respond to cooking commands.

Note: This is usually not a fault but a feature.

Steps:

• 1. Disable child lock: On most Avanti models, press and hold the STOP/CLEAR or a specific LOCK key for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Refer to your user manual for the exact key combination.
• 2. Check keypad: If LOC will not clear, ensure no keys are physically stuck or jammed. Clean the keypad surface with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
• 3. Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try disabling the lock again.
• 4. If still locked: The keypad or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
