Possible Causes

Corrupted control board firmware,Failed control PCB,Power surge damage,Loose display-to-main-board connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave before touching any internal parts.

Reset attempt (user-level):

  • Unplug the microwave for at least 5 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge.
  • Plug it back in and check if E06 clears.
  • If the error persists, do not repeatedly cycle power; further diagnosis is needed.

Technician-level checks:

  • Remove the control panel and inspect the main control PCB and display board for burn marks, swollen components, or corrosion.
  • Reseat ribbon cables and connectors between the display and main board.
  • If available, perform a firmware reset or update according to Balay service documentation.
  • Replace the control PCB if physical or functional damage is confirmed.

Because this involves low-voltage electronics rather than high-voltage, it is safer than HV work, but still should be done by a trained technician to avoid damaging the appliance.
