How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
User-level checks:
- Wipe the control panel surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Allow the microwave to dry for several hours if steam or liquid has recently contacted the panel.
Technician-level checks:
- Remove the control panel assembly and inspect the keypad ribbon cable for corrosion or damage.
- Reseat the ribbon cable into the control PCB connector.
- Test keypad matrix lines (if service documentation is available) to identify stuck or open keys.
- Replace the membrane keypad or complete control panel if individual keys remain non-functional.
If the keypad tests good but E09 persists, the control PCB may require replacement.
