Safety first: Unplug the microwave. Door interlock circuits are a critical safety system; improper repair can cause microwave leakage.

Step 1 – Check door closure: Ensure the door closes smoothly and fully. Look for broken or loose latch hooks on the door.
Step 2 – Listen for clicks: Slowly open and close the door; you should hear distinct clicks from the microswitches. Missing clicks can indicate a failed or misaligned switch.
Step 3 – Inspect latch and switches: Remove the outer cover and control panel (qualified person). Inspect the door latch assembly and interlock switches for damage or misalignment.
Step 4 – Replace faulty switches: If a switch is physically damaged or tests open/shorted incorrectly, replace the entire door switch kit or individual microswitches with Bauknecht-approved parts.
Step 5 – Adjust latch: Ensure the latch bracket is firmly mounted and correctly aligned so that all switches actuate when the door is closed.
