Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents,Failed magnetron cooling fan,Defective thermal cut-out on magnetron,Magnetron overheating due to internal failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave. Do not operate with the cover removed. High voltage and microwave radiation hazards are present.
- 1. Check ventilation: Ensure the microwave has adequate clearance on all sides as specified in the Beko manual. Remove any obstructions from rear and side vents. Clean dust and grease from external vents with a soft brush or vacuum.
- 2. Inspect cooling fan operation: With the unit reassembled, plug in and run for 20–30 seconds with a cup of water. Listen for the internal cooling fan. If the fan is not running or is unusually noisy, it may be seized or burned out and must be replaced.
- 3. Check thermal cut-out (thermostat): After unplugging and removing the cover, locate the thermal cut-out mounted on or near the magnetron. Test it with a multimeter for continuity. If it is open-circuit at room temperature, replace it with the correct Beko-rated part.
- 4. Assess magnetron: If vents are clear, fan is working, and the thermal cut-out is good but E02 persists, the magnetron may be overheating internally. Magnetron replacement is a high-voltage repair and should be performed only by a qualified technician.
Warning: Never bypass or short a thermal cut-out. It is a critical safety device.
