Possible Causes
Open or shorted cavity temperature sensor,Loose sensor connector on control board,Failed wiring harness to sensor,Defective control PCB sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing any panels.
- 1. Power reset: Leave the microwave unplugged for 5–10 minutes to allow the control to reset. Plug back in and test. If E05 returns, proceed.
- 2. Locate cavity sensor: On many Beko microwaves, the cavity temperature sensor (thermistor) is mounted on the top or side of the cooking cavity, accessible from the outer shell. Remove the cover and trace the small-gauge wires from the cavity area to the sensor.
- 3. Check connections: Ensure the sensor plug is firmly seated on the control board and at the sensor end. Look for corrosion or heat damage.
- 4. Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to Beko service specifications (typically in the tens of kΩ). A reading of near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
- 5. Replace sensor if faulty: Install a new Beko-compatible cavity sensor, route the wiring as originally, and secure it away from sharp edges.
Note: If the sensor tests good but E05 persists, the control PCB may be defective and should be evaluated by a professional.
