Possible Causes
Misaligned door hinges,Bent or worn door latch hooks,Deformed door frame,Door switch bracket out of position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before any mechanical adjustments.
- 1. Inspect door closure: Close the door slowly and observe alignment with the cabinet. The gap should be even all around. If the door sags or rubs, hinges may be bent or loose.
- 2. Check latch hooks: Examine the plastic or metal hooks on the door that engage the interlock switches. If they are worn, cracked, or bent, they may not fully actuate the switches.
- 3. Tighten hinges: Open the door and tighten hinge screws on both the door and cabinet side. Do not overtighten to the point of distorting the frame.
- 4. Adjust latch bracket (if accessible): On some Beko models, the latch bracket inside the cabinet can be slightly adjusted. Loosen mounting screws, reposition so the door hooks fully engage the switches, then retighten.
- 5. Replace damaged parts: If the door is warped or the latch hooks are broken, replace the complete door assembly or latch components as per Beko parts list.
Note: After any door or latch work, ensure the door seals properly and there are no visible gaps that could leak microwave energy.
