Possible Causes
Corrupted control firmware,Internal PCB communication failure,Electrostatic discharge event,Defective control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before any disassembly.
- 1. Hard reset: Unplug the microwave for at least 10 minutes to fully discharge internal capacitors in the low-voltage supply. Plug back in and check if E16 clears.
- 2. Check for moisture: Excess steam entering the control area can cause temporary faults. Allow the unit to dry in a warm, dry room for several hours and retry.
- 3. Inspect PCB: If accessible, remove the control panel and visually inspect the PCB for burnt components, corrosion, or insect damage.
- 4. Replace control PCB: If E16 persists and no external cause is found, the control board likely needs replacement with a Beko-specific module.
Note: Firmware updates for microwaves are typically not user-performable; replacement is the usual remedy.
