Microwave will not start; display shows E01 when attempting to run a cooking cycle.

Safety first: Unplug the Bertazzoni microwave from the wall outlet before any disassembly. High voltage is present inside even when unplugged; do not touch the high-voltage capacitor or magnetron area unless you are a trained technician.

• Step 1 – Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door several times. Ensure the door is not sagging and that the latch hooks fully engage the cabinet. Remove any food debris around the door frame and latch openings.
• Step 2 – Inspect door switches (basic check): With power disconnected, gently press the door latch hooks while the door is open and listen for distinct clicks from the door switches. If one switch does not click, it may be defective.
• Step 3 – Visual inspection of latch and strike: Check the plastic door latch hooks and the strike plate in the cabinet for cracks, warping, or looseness. Tighten any loose mounting screws on the inner door or cabinet front.
• Step 4 – Advanced (for qualified persons): Remove the outer cover to access the door switches on the latch bracket. Test each door switch with a multimeter for proper continuity (COM–NO and COM–NC as specified). Replace any switch that does not change state when actuated.
• Step 5 – Reassemble and test: Refit the cover, restore power, and test a short 30-second heating cycle with a microwave-safe cup of water.
