Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before inspection. Internal components can retain high voltage; do not touch the high-voltage section.
- Step 1 – Check ventilation: Ensure the microwave has proper clearance on all sides as specified in the Bertazzoni installation manual. Remove any items blocking the rear or side vents.
- Step 2 – Inspect interior: Remove any covers, foil, or plastic that may be blocking the air channels inside the cavity. Clean grease and debris from vents using a mild detergent and soft cloth.
- Step 3 – Listen for cooling fan: During a short test run (before the error appears), listen for the internal cooling fan. If the fan is not running or is unusually noisy, the fan motor may be failing.
- Step 4 – Sensor and wiring (advanced): With power unplugged, remove the outer cover and locate the cavity temperature sensor (usually clipped to the cavity wall or duct). Check for loose connectors or damaged wires. Replace the sensor if it appears burnt, cracked, or tests out of specification with a multimeter.
- Step 5 – Test again: Reassemble, restore power, and run the microwave with a cup of water for 1–2 minutes to confirm normal operation.
If E02 reappears quickly, discontinue use and schedule service; prolonged overheating can damage the magnetron and control board.
