Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken or stripped turntable coupler, Jammed turntable support wheels, Faulty motor wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before working underneath or inside the cabinet.
- Step 1 – Check for mechanical obstruction: Remove the glass tray and turntable support ring. Clean any spilled food or debris from the cavity floor and the roller track. Ensure the support ring wheels roll freely.
- Step 2 – Inspect coupler: Check the plastic turntable coupler that fits over the motor shaft for cracks or rounding of the drive splines. Replace if damaged.
- Step 3 – Test motor operation: With the tray removed, run a short test cycle and observe whether the coupler attempts to turn. If it does not move at all and E06 appears, the motor or its wiring may be faulty.
- Step 4 – Access motor (bottom panel): With power disconnected, remove the bottom cover of the microwave to access the turntable motor. Check for loose connectors or burnt smell. Test the motor coil resistance with a multimeter; replace the motor if open or shorted.
- Step 5 – Reassemble and test: Refit the motor, coupler, support ring, and tray. Run a 1-minute test with a cup of water to confirm smooth rotation.
