Possible Causes
Failed main power relay on control board, Open line fuse, Loose line filter or power harness connection, Burnt relay contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave and be aware of high-voltage components inside.
- Step 1 – Check house circuit: Confirm the circuit breaker has not tripped and that the outlet has power.
- Step 2 – Inspect line fuse: With the cover removed and power disconnected, locate the main line fuse near the power cord entry or line filter. Test it with a multimeter; replace only with the same rating if blown, and investigate for shorts.
- Step 3 – Inspect power harness: Ensure all connectors from the line filter to the control board are firmly seated and not heat-damaged.
- Step 4 – Relay inspection: On the control board, look for a burnt or cracked main relay. If the relay is damaged or not energizing, the entire control board typically must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Test after repair: After replacing the fuse or control board, reassemble and test with a short heating cycle.
If the new fuse blows immediately, stop and have a technician locate the underlying short circuit.
