Possible Causes
Failed display module, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Weak low-voltage supply to display, Moisture damage to control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes and reconnect. Sometimes a soft reset can restore the display.
- Step 2 – Check for moisture: If the issue started after heavy steaming, allow the unit to dry for several hours with the door open. Avoid directing steam from cooktops directly at the control panel.
- Step 3 – Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel assembly and check the flat ribbon cable between the display board and main control board. Reseat the connectors and ensure there is no corrosion.
- Step 4 – Examine display board: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the display PCB. If damaged, replace the display/UI board.
- Step 5 – Replace main board if needed: If the display module is good but not receiving proper voltage, the main control board may be at fault.
