Possible Causes
Open convection heating element, Failed grill element, Faulty high-limit thermostat on heater, Loose heater wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool completely before working near heating elements.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: Inspect the convection and grill elements inside the cavity for visible breaks, hot spots, or burn marks.
- Step 2 – Check for airflow: During convection operation, you should hear the convection fan. If the fan is not running, the unit may overheat and trigger E12.
- Step 3 – Test elements (advanced): With power disconnected and access panels removed, test the resistance of the convection and grill elements with a multimeter. Replace any element that is open.
- Step 4 – Inspect thermostats: Locate the high-limit thermostat(s) on or near the heater assembly. Test for continuity; replace if open and not resettable.
- Step 5 – Wiring check: Ensure all spade connectors on the elements and thermostats are tight and not heat-damaged.
