Microwave displays E18 and the child lock cannot be engaged or disengaged properly.

• Step 1 – Follow manual lock procedure: Refer to the Bertazzoni user manual for the exact key combination to toggle the child lock (often holding a specific button for several seconds). Attempt to enable and disable the lock.
• Step 2 – Check for stuck keys: Press each button individually and ensure none are physically stuck or slow to return. Clean around the buttons with a soft cloth.
• Step 3 – Power cycle: Unplug the microwave for 5–10 minutes to reset the control logic. Reconnect and test the child lock function again.
• Step 4 – UI board replacement: If the lock icon or function remains inconsistent, the UI controller or keypad may be faulty and require replacement.
