Possible Causes
Blown line fuse, Tripped thermal fuse on cavity or chassis, Faulty power cord, Failed line filter or main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before any disassembly. Capacitors may still hold charge.
- Step 1 – Check outlet: Test the wall outlet with another appliance or a tester to confirm power is present. Reset any tripped breakers.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Look for visible damage to the cord and plug. Replace if damaged.
- Step 3 – Internal fuses (advanced): With the cover removed and power disconnected, locate the main line fuse and any thermal fuses. Test with a multimeter and replace only with identical ratings after identifying the cause of failure.
- Step 4 – Control board: If fuses and cord are good but the unit remains dead, the main control board or line filter may be defective and require replacement.
