Possible Causes
Child lock feature engaged,Stuck keypad combination triggering lock,Control board firmware glitch,Defective keypad matrix
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal hazards for this procedure; do not disassemble for child lock issues.
Unlock procedure:
- 1. Check manual: Refer to your Blomberg microwave manual for the specific child lock on/off sequence (commonly pressing and holding the Stop/Cancel or a dedicated key for 3–5 seconds).
- 2. Try common sequences: Press and hold the Stop/Cancel button for 5 seconds. If a lock icon disappears and E16 clears, the child lock was engaged.
- 3. Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug back in. This can clear minor firmware glitches.
If buttons remain unresponsive:
- 4. Keypad test: Try pressing multiple keys. If only some respond or none do, the keypad or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
