Microwave displays E16 and the child lock symbol may appear; buttons do not respond.

Safety: No internal hazards for this procedure; do not disassemble for child lock issues.

Unlock procedure:

• 1. Check manual: Refer to your Blomberg microwave manual for the specific child lock on/off sequence (commonly pressing and holding the Stop/Cancel or a dedicated key for 3–5 seconds).
• 2. Try common sequences: Press and hold the Stop/Cancel button for 5 seconds. If a lock icon disappears and E16 clears, the child lock was engaged.
• 3. Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug back in. This can clear minor firmware glitches.

If buttons remain unresponsive:

• 4. Keypad test: Try pressing multiple keys. If only some respond or none do, the keypad or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
