Possible Causes
Overheated convection cavity, Blocked convection fan, Faulty convection temperature sensor, Failed convection thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the microwave to cool completely and unplug it before servicing.
- Step 1 – Cool down: Leave the door open and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes. Restart and see if H1 clears.
- Step 2 – Check convection fan: During convection operation, you should hear the rear fan. If not, unplug the unit, remove the cabinet, and inspect the convection fan for obstructions or a seized motor.
- Step 3 – Inspect sensor and thermostat: Locate the convection temperature sensor and any thermostats on the rear or top of the cavity. Test for continuity and replace any open thermostats. Test the sensor resistance at room temperature and compare with specifications.
- Step 4 – Ventilation: Ensure the microwave has proper external ventilation and is not installed in a confined space without airflow.
