Possible Causes
Stuck relay on control PCB, Shorted door interlock switch, Misaligned door latch causing switch to remain engaged, Wiring error after previous repair
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: A microwave that runs with the door closed and no command is unsafe. Unplug it immediately and do not use it.
- Step 1 – Inspect door switches: Access the door interlock switches. Check that the actuators move freely and are not jammed. Test each switch with a multimeter.
- Step 2 – Verify wiring: Compare the wiring of the switches to the Bomann service diagram if available. Correct any miswired connections.
- Step 3 – Check control relay: If switches are correct, the main power relay on the control PCB may be welded closed. The control board will need replacement.
- Step 4 – Do not bypass safety: Never bypass or short door switches to keep the microwave running. This is extremely dangerous.
