Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken or stripped turntable coupler, Turntable support wheels jammed, Faulty turntable relay or wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or internal components.
- Step 1 – Check the glass tray and support: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean them and the cavity floor. Reinstall correctly and ensure the tray sits properly on the coupler.
- Step 2 – Test without load: Run the microwave briefly without the glass tray (but with the coupler installed) and observe if the coupler turns.
- Step 3 – Access turntable motor: On many Bomann models, the turntable motor is accessible from the bottom. Remove the bottom cover (if present) and disconnect the motor.
- Step 4 – Test motor: Check the motor for continuity with a multimeter. If open, replace the motor with the correct voltage and RPM rating.
- Step 5 – Inspect coupler: If the motor shaft turns but the coupler does not, replace the plastic coupler.
