Possible Causes

Blocked air vents, Failed cavity thermal cut-out, Defective magnetron thermostat, Cooling fan not running

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes.

  • Check external airflow: Ensure that all side, rear, and top vents are unobstructed. Remove items stored on top of the microwave. For built-in Bosch models, verify that trim kits and cabinetry allow proper airflow as per installation manual.
  • Clean intake and exhaust grills: Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust and grease from external grills.
  • Listen for fan operation: After cooling and reconnecting power, start the microwave with a cup of water and listen for the internal cooling fan. If you do not hear the fan running, stop the cycle and unplug the unit.

If E07 recurs or the fan is silent: The thermal cut-out, thermostat, or cooling fan motor may be defective. These are internal components mounted on the cavity or magnetron and should be serviced by a professional.
