Possible Causes
Blocked turntable rotation, Failed turntable motor, Damaged turntable coupler, Faulty motor wiring or control relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before handling parts inside the cavity.
User-level steps:
- 1. Remove and inspect glass tray: Take out the glass turntable and roller ring. Clean both with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- 2. Check for obstructions: Inspect the cavity floor for food debris, broken glass, or warped plastic that could block rotation.
- 3. Inspect the coupler: Look at the plastic turntable coupler that fits into the motor shaft. Ensure it is not cracked, melted, or loose.
- 4. Test without load: With the tray and ring removed, plug in the microwave and briefly start a cook cycle. Look through the window to see if the coupler turns. Stop immediately after checking.
Technician-level checks:
- Access the underside of the cavity and test the turntable motor for correct resistance.
- Check wiring to the motor and the control relay on the PCB.
- Replace the turntable motor or coupler if defective.
If E08 persists and the coupler does not rotate, professional replacement of the motor is recommended.
