Possible Causes
Dirty or damaged roller ring, Cracked glass turntable, Worn turntable coupler, Failing turntable motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before handling the glass tray or internal parts.
User-level steps:
- 1. Remove and inspect tray: Take out the glass turntable and roller ring. Check for chips, cracks, or warping.
- 2. Clean contact surfaces: Wipe the cavity floor, roller ring, and underside of the glass tray to remove crumbs and grease.
- 3. Inspect roller ring: Ensure the wheels roll freely and are not flattened or broken.
- 4. Check coupler: Inspect the plastic turntable coupler for cracks or deformation.
- 5. Test without load: With the tray and ring removed, briefly run the microwave and watch the coupler. If the noise persists from below, the motor may be failing.
Replace a damaged roller ring, glass tray, or coupler with Breville-compatible parts. If the motor itself is noisy, a technician should replace the turntable motor.
