How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool completely before inspection.
User-level checks:
- Mode selection: Confirm you have selected the correct grill or convection mode according to the Clatronic manual.
- Ventilation: Ensure vents are not blocked; overheating can trigger protection.
Technician-level checks:
- Remove the cabinet (unplugged). Locate the grill heating element at the top of the cavity and the convection fan (if present).
- Test the grill element for continuity with a multimeter. Replace if open.
- Check the grill thermostat / thermal cut-out for continuity when cool.
- Inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage or loose contacts.
