Possible Causes
Corrupted control firmware, Failed microcontroller on PCB, Power surge damage, Shorted component on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing any covers.
Step-by-step:
- 1. Power reset: Unplug for 10–15 minutes to fully discharge internal low-voltage circuits. Plug back in and test. Sometimes F1 can be cleared by a full reset.
- 2. Check power quality: Ensure the microwave is plugged directly into a properly grounded outlet. Avoid extension cords and power strips that may cause voltage drops or surges.
- 3. Inspect control board: Remove the control panel and visually inspect the PCB for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or corrosion. If visible damage is present, the board must be replaced.
- 4. Replace control PCB: If F1 persists and no keypad fault is found, replace the control PCB with a Daewoo-compatible part.
Note: Firmware on Daewoo control boards is not typically user-reprogrammable; replacement is the standard remedy.
