Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken or worn turntable coupler, Damaged roller ring, Turntable motor wiring fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or internal components.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check tray and roller ring: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor. Inspect the roller ring for flat spots or broken wheels; replace if damaged.
- 2. Inspect coupler: Remove the plastic coupler and check for cracks or wear. Replace if it no longer grips the motor shaft properly.
- 3. Test motor operation: With the tray removed, run the microwave briefly (with a cup of water) and look through the glass at the coupler shaft. If it does not turn, suspect the motor.
- 4. Replace motor: Access the motor from the bottom of the unit, disconnect wiring, remove mounting screws, and install a new Daewoo-compatible turntable motor.
