Display shows LOC or a lock icon; buttons do not respond and microwave will not start.

Safety note: This is a user setting, not a hardware failure in most cases.

• Disable child lock: On many Danby microwaves, press and hold the STOP/CLEAR or 0 key for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Refer to your specific model's user manual if this does not work.
• Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 1–2 minutes, then plug back in and try the unlock sequence again.
• Check keypad: If LOC will not clear and some keys feel stuck, gently clean around the keys with a soft cloth. Do not use excessive moisture.
• Next step: If the lock cannot be cleared and keys remain unresponsive, the keypad or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
