Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken or stripped turntable coupler, Misaligned or cracked glass tray, Turntable off setting enabled (if available)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or internal components.
- Check tray and roller ring: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor. Reinstall, ensuring the tray sits properly on the coupler.
- Turntable setting: Some Danby models allow turning the turntable off. Check the control panel for a Turntable On/Off button and ensure it is set to On.
- Test coupler: With the tray removed, gently try to turn the plastic coupler by hand. It should turn with some resistance. If it spins freely without moving the motor or is cracked, replace the coupler.
- Motor replacement (advanced): Access to the turntable motor is usually from the bottom of the microwave. Remove the bottom cover, disconnect the motor wires, and replace the motor with a Danby-compatible part.
- Next step: If the motor receives power but does not turn, or you are not comfortable removing panels, contact a technician.
