How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before opening the cabinet.
Basic external checks:
- Confirm the outlet has power by testing with another appliance.
- Check your home breaker panel for a tripped breaker.
Internal checks (unplugged):
- Remove the outer cabinet and locate the internal line fuse (usually near the power cord entry or line filter board).
- Test the fuse with a multimeter for continuity. If blown, do not simply replace it without finding the cause (shorted component, surge, etc.).
- Inspect the power cord and line filter board for burn marks or loose connections.
- Check cavity thermal fuse(s) for continuity; replace if open with the exact Emerson-specified part.
