Microwave beeps and displays E05; cooking does not start or stops immediately.

Safety: Unplug the microwave before removing any control panel screws or covers.

Initial checks:

• Wipe the control panel with a soft, dry cloth to remove moisture, grease, or spills. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel; spray onto the cloth first.
• Unplug the unit for 10 minutes to reset the control. Plug back in and test all keys.
• Check if certain buttons are unresponsive or trigger E05 more often; this points to a keypad issue.

Panel inspection (intermediate):

• Unplug the microwave and remove the control panel mounting screws (usually behind the trim or door edge).
• Gently pull the panel forward and inspect the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board.
• Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon, ensuring it is fully seated and not corroded.
• If there are signs of liquid damage or corrosion, the keypad or entire control panel assembly may need replacement.

If E05 persists after reseating the cable and drying the panel, replacing the keypad/control PCB is recommended. This is generally a moderate repair but should be done carefully to avoid damaging the display or wiring.
