Possible Causes

Failed main cooling fan motor, Blocked air intake or exhaust vents, Loose fan blade on motor shaft, Faulty fan motor capacitor (if fitted)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave before inspection.

External airflow checks:

  • Ensure that the microwave has adequate clearance on all sides as specified by Fagor.
  • Clean dust and grease from intake and exhaust vents using a vacuum and soft brush.
  • Check that built-in trim kits are correctly installed and not blocking airflow.

Fan inspection (qualified):

  • Remove the outer cover and locate the main cooling fan (often near the magnetron or transformer).
  • Spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely without scraping.
  • Check for loose mounting screws or a slipping fan hub.
  • Test the fan motor for continuity and proper operation when powered (only with safe procedures).

Replace the cooling fan motor if it is noisy, seized, or electrically faulty. Continued use with poor cooling can damage the magnetron and other components.
