Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, stripped turntable coupler, jammed turntable support, wiring issue to motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before handling internal parts.
Turntable checks:
- Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean both thoroughly and wipe the oven floor.
- Inspect the plastic coupler (the piece that fits into the bottom of the tray). Ensure it is not cracked or stripped and that it sits firmly on the motor shaft.
- With the tray removed, plug in the microwave and start a short cook cycle. Look through the window at the coupler: it should rotate smoothly. If it does not move or moves erratically, stop the unit and unplug it.
Motor replacement (advanced DIY):
- Remove the bottom cover (if accessible) to reach the turntable motor.
- Disconnect the motor wires and remove the mounting screws.
- Install a compatible Farberware turntable motor, reconnect wires, and reassemble.
If you cannot access the motor safely or the error persists after motor replacement, seek professional service.
