Possible Causes

Residue from manufacturing on cavity surfaces, dust on heating components, new paint curing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Steps:

  • Remove all packaging materials, including any plastic film on the control panel or inside the cavity.
  • Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry.
  • Place a cup of water with a few slices of lemon inside and run the microwave on HIGH for 3–5 minutes. Repeat 2–3 times, allowing ventilation between cycles.
  • Ensure good room ventilation during initial uses.

The smell should diminish after several uses. If the odor smells like burning insulation or persists strongly, discontinue use and have the unit inspected.
