Possible Causes
Blown internal line fuse, Open thermal fuse on cavity, Faulty power cord, Failed main control PCB power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before opening the cabinet. Internal components can be sharp and hazardous.
- Check outlet and breaker: Verify that the outlet has power by plugging in another appliance. Check the household circuit breaker or fuse.
- Inspect power cord: Look for visible damage to the cord. If damaged, the cord must be replaced.
- Access internal fuse: Remove the outer cover (for countertop) or access panel. Locate the line fuse near the power cord entry or on the noise filter board. Test for continuity with a multimeter.
- Replace blown fuse (with caution): If the fuse is blown, replace it only with the exact same rating specified by Fisher & Paykel. If the new fuse blows immediately, there is an underlying fault (shorted high-voltage component, shorted cord, etc.) that must be diagnosed by a technician.
- Check thermal fuse: Locate the cavity thermal fuse and test for continuity. Replace if open.
