How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for a few minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes a reset can temporarily improve display behavior.
- Inspect display board: Remove the control panel and examine the display PCB for cracked solder joints, especially at the display and connector pins. Resolder if you are skilled with electronics.
- Check connectors: Reseat the ribbon cables and connectors to the display board.
- Replace display board: If the display remains dim or segments are missing, replace the user interface/display PCB with the correct Fisher & Paykel part.
