Possible Causes
Stuck relay on control board, Misadjusted or welded door switch contacts, Incorrectly installed door switch after prior repair, Shorted control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: A microwave that runs with the door closed and no command is a serious safety hazard. Unplug it immediately.
- Do not operate: Leave the unit unplugged until the fault is corrected.
- Inspect door switches: With power disconnected, access the door switch assembly. Check for switches that are physically stuck or show signs of overheating.
- Verify wiring: Compare the wiring to the Fisher & Paykel wiring diagram. Ensure each wire is on the correct terminal (COM, NO, NC).
- Replace faulty switches: Replace any switch that does not change state correctly when the door is opened/closed.
- Check control board relay: If switches and wiring are correct but the oven still runs when plugged in, the control board relay may be welded closed and the board must be replaced.
