Microwave displays F1 and may not start or may stop mid-cycle.

Safety First: Disconnect power at the outlet or breaker. Do not work near the high-voltage section unless properly trained.

Diagnostic steps:

• Power cycle: Unplug for 5–10 minutes and reconnect. If F1 returns immediately, suspect the control or keypad.
• Access control panel: Remove the top grille and the screw(s) holding the control panel. Carefully tilt the panel forward.
• Check keypad ribbon: Disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to the control board. Inspect for corrosion or damage.
• Isolate keypad (if possible): Some Frigidaire models allow you to disconnect the keypad ribbon and power up. If F1 appears with the keypad disconnected, the control board is likely bad. If F1 only appears with the keypad connected, the keypad is likely shorted.
• Replace faulty part: Order the correct Frigidaire main control board or control panel/keypad assembly based on your test. Install the new part, ensuring all connectors are fully seated.
