Microwave displays F2 and will not start or stops shortly after starting.

Steps to try:

• Check for stuck keys: Press each keypad button individually. If any button feels stuck or does not click, the keypad is likely defective.
• Clean surface: Wipe the keypad surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to seep into the edges.
• Access control panel: Remove the top grille and mounting screw(s), then tilt the control panel out.
• Inspect keypad ribbon: Reseat the ribbon cable and check for visible damage.
• Replace keypad/control panel: If F2 persists, replace the Frigidaire control panel / keypad assembly. On some models, the keypad is bonded to the panel and not serviceable separately.

When to seek service: If a new keypad does not resolve the F2 error, the main control board may have a failed keypad input circuit and should be replaced by a technician.
