Microwave displays LOC or a lock icon and will not start; keypad appears unresponsive.

Safety: No internal repair is needed for this condition in most cases.

Steps to unlock:

• Check user manual: Most Frigidaire microwaves use a key combination such as pressing and holding Stop/Clear or Clock for 3–5 seconds to toggle the control lock.
• Try common combos: Press and hold Stop/Clear for 5 seconds. If LOC disappears, the lock is off.
• Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 1–2 minutes and plug back in. Then try the unlock key combination again.
• Keypad issue: If LOC will not clear or returns immediately, the keypad may be faulty and may require replacement of the control panel / keypad assembly.
