Possible Causes
Control lock feature enabled via keypad, Stuck or accidentally pressed key combination, User settings retained after power cycle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: LOC is not a fault; it indicates the control lock is active.
- Disable control lock: On most GE microwaves, press and hold the Clear/Off or Cancel button for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Some models use a specific key like Lock Controls or a combination (refer to the user manual).
- Check keypad labeling: Look for small text under a key indicating "Hold 3 Sec for Lock" or similar.
- Power reset: If the lock will not clear, unplug the microwave for 1 minute, plug back in, and try the unlock sequence again.
