Possible Causes
Recent power outage or surge, Loose power cord connection, Faulty wall outlet, Internal control board power supply instability
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the unit is unplugged before inspecting the cord or outlet.
- Confirm power event: If there was a recent outage or breaker trip, PF is normal. Reset the clock and test operation.
- Check outlet: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to verify stable power. If the outlet is loose or intermittent, have it repaired by an electrician.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks in the GE microwave's power cord. If damaged, the cord must be replaced by a technician.
- Dedicated circuit: Ensure the microwave is on a dedicated 15–20A circuit as recommended by GE to avoid brownouts.
- Persistent PF: If PF appears frequently without actual outages, the internal control board power supply may be failing and should be replaced.
