Possible Causes
Open-circuit cavity temperature sensor (NTC),Shorted NTC sensor,Loose wiring harness to sensor,Faulty control PCB temperature input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Unplug the microwave before removing any panels. High voltage is present inside even when not operating.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try a short cook cycle. Transient faults can sometimes clear.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the air vents at the sides and rear are not blocked. Overheating can trigger sensor-related errors.
- Inspect sensor connection (qualified persons): Remove the outer cover. Locate the cavity temperature sensor (usually clipped to the top or side of the cooking cavity, wired with two small-gauge wires). Check that the connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged or burnt.
- Basic resistance check: With the unit unplugged and sensor disconnected, measure resistance across the NTC with a multimeter. At room temperature it should show a stable resistance (often 50–200 kΩ depending on model). Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a failed sensor.
- Replace if faulty: If the sensor is open/shorted, replace it with a Gorenje-compatible cavity temperature sensor/NTC. Reassemble and test with a short heating cycle.
