How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the control panel.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10 minutes, then reconnect. Temporary glitches can sometimes be cleared.
- Dry out moisture: If E6 appeared after heavy steam cooking, leave the door open and allow the unit to dry for several hours. Avoid directing steam toward the control panel.
- Inspect ribbon cable (qualified persons): Remove the control panel assembly, then carefully disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable between the keypad and main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not corroded.
- Check for damage: Look for cracks in the touch membrane, liquid spills, or burn marks on the PCB. Replace the touch control panel or main PCB as required.
