How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before inspection.

  • Check for blocked airflow: Ensure that the rear and top vents are not obstructed. Remove any items stored on top of the microwave.
  • Reset thermal cut-out (if manual reset type and accessible): Some models have a resettable thermostat on the convection heater housing. After cooling, press the reset button if present (qualified persons only).
  • Inspect convection sensor: On combination models, locate the convection sensor near the fan/heater assembly. Check wiring and connector for heat damage.
  • Sensor test: With the sensor disconnected and the unit unplugged, measure its resistance at room temperature. Replace if open/shorted or out of specification.
