Possible Causes
Defective membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and control board, Failed main PCB (control board), Moisture or contamination on keypad contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet before removing any panels. High voltage is present inside even when unplugged; do not touch the high-voltage capacitor or magnetron area.
- Power reset: Unplug the microwave for 5–10 minutes, then plug it back in and check if the E0 code clears.
- Check keypad response: Try pressing multiple buttons. If some keys work and others do not, the membrane keypad is likely failing.
- Inspect ribbon cable: If you are comfortable removing the control panel, carefully remove the top grille and control panel screws, tilt the panel out, and inspect the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board. Reseat it firmly and ensure there is no corrosion or damage.
- Clean around keypad: If there are signs of liquid spills or steam damage around the keypad, gently clean the surface and edges with a slightly damp cloth (microwave unplugged) and let it dry completely.
- If E0 persists: The membrane keypad or the main PCB is likely defective. Replacing the keypad assembly is usually the first step; if that does not resolve it, the control board will need replacement. If you are not experienced with appliance repair, contact a qualified technician.
