Possible Causes
Failed internal cooling fan motor, Blocked air ducts or filters, Loose fan wiring, Seized fan blade
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before inspection. Do not touch high-voltage components.
- Check external vents: Make sure wall cabinets, objects, or grease buildup are not blocking the intake or exhaust vents.
- Listen for fan: Start a short cook cycle with a cup of water. If the light and turntable operate but you do not hear the fan running, stop the cycle and unplug the unit.
- Internal fan inspection (advanced): Remove the outer cover (unplugged). Locate the cooling fan near the magnetron or on the rear panel. Check if the fan blade spins freely by hand and if any debris is obstructing it.
- Check wiring: Inspect the fan motor connectors for looseness or burning.
- Replace fan motor: If the fan is seized or the motor is open (tested with a meter), replace it with a Haier-compatible cooling fan motor.
- Do not bypass: Never bypass fan circuits; overheating can damage the magnetron and pose a fire risk.
